Reedsy Discovery

I would rate Secrets and Lies by Dennis Roth 3 out of 5 stars. It was a heartwarming read about the lifelong friendship of two small-town boys. The characters were all well-developed. Through the intricate character interactions, Roth was able to turn a potentially boring plot into one that held my attention to the very last page. It was such a simple, well-written read about the unbreakable bond between Henry and his best friend Murray.

I would recommend this book to anyone interested in a literary fiction book about the life of one person born before World War II. It is a very heartwarming read. If you want a comfortable, easy story without too much drama or too many plot twists, this is the book for you. I think it would be a great read for those who want to step away from the business of life and transport themselves back to an era when things were simpler. If that sounds like you, you need to check out the story of Henry and Murray in Secrets and Lies.
