Legacy and Loyalty The Molnar Chronicles

solitude in the writer's life

Is there really a tooth fairy, Grandpa?

Jason Molnar, now grown to be a grandfather, has created a false history of the family and its traditions. He uses this history of legacy and loyalty to teach his children and grandchildren to look at the world from an honest and compassionate point of view. His 12-year-old grandson approaches Jason having heard a rumor of an ancient fight between Uncle Phillipe-André and him, casting doubt on the very foundation of the honesty that Jason holds so dear. His grandson asks Jason, “Can good deeds be justified by lies?”

Book #3 circles back to the issues of secrets and lies from Book #1 of “The Molnar Chronicles.” Has the family learned nothing from its past? There is only one solution.

Lie.
Lie to preserve the family.
Lie and then lie again.
Because everyone wants to believe in the tooth fairy.

Author’s Statement
Dennis Roth enjoys writing character driven stories. He enjoys putting two characters in a room and have them talk to each other. Out of those conversations, his stories develop. In this Book #3 of “The Molnar Chronicles,” Dennis investigates the ideals of a grandfather and his questioning grandson. The grandfather justifies the truthfulness of his actions as being for good intentions. As a former structural engineer and a blue water sailor, Dennis knows that good intentions do not make a building safe nor a ship float. On the other hand, is there really a tooth fairy, Grandpa?
